Creating Your First Board

Boards are the foundation of your workflow in Tosang. Each board represents a project, area of focus, or any collection of related tasks.

To create a new board:

  1. Click the board dropdown in the top navigation bar
  2. Select "New Board" at the bottom of the dropdown
  3. Enter a name for your board (e.g., "Project Alpha" or "Personal Tasks")
  4. Optionally, upload a custom logo for the board
  5. Optionally, share the board with a teammate right away
  6. Click "Create Board"
Tip: Use descriptive board names that clearly identify the project or purpose. This helps when you have multiple boards.

Adding Columns

Columns represent the stages of your workflow. Common setups include:

  • Simple: To Do, In Progress, Done
  • Development: Backlog, In Development, Code Review, Testing, Deployed
  • Marketing: Ideas, Planning, In Progress, Review, Published

To add a column:

  1. With a board selected, click the "+ Add Column" button on the right side of your board
  2. Enter a name for the column
  3. Click "Create Column"

You can create as many columns as needed. Columns can be reordered by dragging them to new positions.

Creating Tasks

Tasks are the individual items you need to complete. Each task can have:

  • Title: A brief description of what needs to be done
  • Description: Additional details or notes
  • Priority: Low, Medium, High, or Urgent
  • Due Date: When the task should be completed
  • Tags: Categories or labels for organization

To create a task:

  1. Click the "+" button at the top of any column
  2. Fill in the task details in the modal that appears
  3. Set a priority level to indicate importance
  4. Add a due date if applicable
  5. Select any relevant tags
  6. Click "Save Task"
Tip: Use priorities wisely. Mark only truly critical items as "Urgent" to keep your focus clear.

Using Drag & Drop

Tosang's intuitive drag-and-drop interface makes managing tasks effortless:

Moving Tasks Between Columns

Simply click and hold a task card, then drag it to another column. This is perfect for moving a task from "To Do" to "In Progress" when you start working on it.

Reordering Tasks Within a Column

You can also drag tasks up or down within the same column to prioritize them visually.

Reordering Columns

Drag columns by their header to rearrange the order of your workflow stages.

Note: All changes are saved automatically. There's no need to manually save after moving tasks.
